Norrtälje-based aluminium boat builder ALUKIN is merging with Nimbus Boats in order to increase access for boat buyers nationwide. Nimbus thereby increases its brand portfolio with an aluminium boat brand as a complement to the company’s existing range of products.

Alukin has experienced not only continued strong demand for all-welded aluminium boats in the domestic
market but also an increasing demand across Europe.
This feels like a perfect fit. We can identify with Nimbus and their history as one of Sweden’s premier boat builders. We see great advantages in allying ourselves with Nimbus and their well-established reseller network. In concrete terms, this means that we can make it easier for boat buyers to see and test drive Alukin’s boats at more locations, as well as pave the way for exports.

Sales and organisation
Initially, Nimbus’ resellers will focus on selling Alukin’s leisure craft. For the time being, Alukin will continue
to sell their Work series directly from Norrtälje, as well as deal with B2B/corporate and public-sector
customers.
The new organisation will see Maria Nikula take over as CEO for Alukin with continued brand responsibility.
Previous CEO Peter Nikula will now be able to focus fully on the role of head of production for Alukin
aluminium boats.
“This constellation will provide us with the opportunity to focus further on developing the company and our
boats, as I shall be increasingly concentrating on production, construction, design and product
development,” concludes Peter Nikula.
Nimbus Boats Sweden AB’s main production is based in Mariestad with its head office in Gothenburg. The
Nimbus Group otherwise consists of resellers and full-service mariners, as well as subsidiaries and
partners both in Sweden and worldwide
